- Second or Third Carrier – Expands the Merlin Magix Basic Carrier by adding 6 universal module slots for line and station modules and voice mail modules
- Allows off-site staging, so the system hardware assembly and associated programming can be completed prior to installing the system on site
- Improves protection for electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI), and will accommodate future convergence applications
- Can be connected to a plastic carrier that is upgraded from a Merlin Legend to Merlin Magix Release 2.0 system for the purpose of installing an Integrated Network Access Module
